The basement
A small, versatile room under the cafe for gigs, meetings, workshops, rehearsals, screenings and talks.
Kino’s basement is there as a resource for the local community, and the co-op’s events programme is built around the same values as the cafe.
That means music, independent and DIY arts, feminism, animal welfare, environmentalism, queer politics, equality and anti-racism. Everyone hiring the room is asked to read the co-op’s safer spaces policy.
Room for 65 standing, or 30 seated
Seating can be set out for you.
A PA, with an in-house engineer
And a projector for films and slides.
Finishes by 10pm
When the cafe closes up for the night.
No age restrictions on the licence
So events can be open to all ages.
Stairs only
There’s no step-free access to the basement.
Help getting the word out
Events can go on Kino’s website, its social pages, Bristol Live Magazine and the noticeboard in the cafe.
There’s a hire fee for most events. Send an enquiry and the events team will let you know what applies.
