Vegan cafe and community space

Workers’ co-op since 2004

Cafe Kino: a vegan co-op cafe on Stokes Croft, Bristol

A cafe with an exposed brick wall, bar stools and wooden tables

Vegan food made from scratch, in a cafe owned by the people who work in it.

Vegan, made from scratch, and run by the people who work here

  • A 100% vegan kitchen

Nothing on the menu, or in the kitchen, comes from an animal. Coffee comes with oat, almond or coconut milk.

  • Made in the kitchen

Burgers, salads, dressings, relishes, mayonnaise and dips are made from scratch. The bean burgers use British-grown badger beans.

  • A workers’ co-op

There’s no boss and no shareholders. Kino is not-for-profit, so any money it makes goes back into the cafe.

What people say

4.5 from 1,242 Google reviews

“We had the pancakes with vegan bacon and maple syrup with vegan butter which were outstanding. The tofu scramble and mushrooms were also incredibly tasty with garlic and beautiful sourdough. Lovely hashbrowns and vegan butty too with incredibly generous portions and fair prices. Very tasty coffee too - would go back in a heartbeat!”
Jessie Ayles, Google review
  • “Had an amazing breakfast here whilst visiting Bristol from Manchester. Gorgeous vegetarian food. A really lovely cafe to visit, a very welcoming atmosphere to chill in, friendly staff etc. Love the fact it's a cooperative with lots of cool stuff going on too. Will definitely visit again”

    Karen Pertoldi

  • “I had a chikun Reuben toastie with rosemary salted chips and my friend had a garlic chikun burger. We enjoyed some cakes and the tea was excellent too. Cost wise I would say it was better value than I expected because Bristol is a lot more expensive than Wales. For reference, the toastie was £8 but it was as big as my head and very filling.”

    Frankie Thompson-Attwell

  • “Loved this place. Such a warm welcome from the team. We had just had a big dinner when we discovered this vibrant cafe but couldn’t resist a couple of sweet treats to take back to the hotel. So delicious. Wish we had time to go back but will definitely make the effort to visit again next time in Bristol.”
